Adapting to the 21st Century
Can't Keep a Good Woman Down . . .
Whooeey, baby. Things have changed a bit since my last visit to the Human World when you had to ring the operator and ask to be connected to the person with whom you wanted to talk. Now, there's internet and wi-fi and PDAs.
I have set up the Faery Good Dating Service and now I'm waiting for my first blogger to contact me. They will--don't worry!

Dear Keely,
I have a small problem. My husband spends more time playing baseball (the real kind) and fantasy baseball (online) during the summer than he does during the winter. Is there a winter baseball activity he could get into so I can keep writing?
Not that I mind his fixation on baseball, mind you, since I consider it a far superior sport to others he could be interested in (not a fan of football). I also can't stand the sad look on his face after the World Series ends every year. Can you make any suggestions?
Eilis,
You have struck a nerve with my scribe as well, although winter affords her the chance to pay proper attention to moi.
Your husband's post-series malaise could be thwarted by a simple solution--winter fantasy baseball. Ah, but where to get the stats. Maybe fall T-ball? My scribe's six-year-old grandson plays for the St. Albans, WV, team. He's a good batter, has strong arm, and will likely stay healthy through the season as long as he has matching socks. Good prospect as a middle infielder.
The other solution is to send your husband to South America to play winter ball. Only problem is, the day job is a tough commute. Besides, I hear they have bugs in the locker rooms . . .
Go Mariners!

Keely
